Revitalizing Lake County as a preeminent vacation destination, the Tallman Hotel’s fully restored 17-room, 1890’s-era auberge began hosting guests again in 2006. Our expansion included our full service bar and restaurant, the Blue Wing Saloon, followed by the Upper Lake Mercantileour artisanal home goods retail store a short walk from the hotel up Main Street.

A scenic 2.5 hour drive from San Francisco, the Tallman Hotel welcomes you to relax, rejuvenate, and explore Lake County’s stunning scenery, and emerging wine and food culture, or simply relax in one of our geo-thermally heated Ofuro soaking tubs.

We invite you to a simpler time!

Blue Wing Saloon Restaurant

Rebuilt to match an 1870s-era back bar recycled from a pub in Pennsylvania, the Blue Wing Saloon Restaurant’s expansive black walnut bar and dining tables were built on-site by local craftsmen from a 100+ year old tree harvested from the property. Old-growth redwood wainscoting found hidden behind layers of paint and wallpaper during the hotel’s renovation, was rescued and reused in the saloon.

The authentic look and feel of the Blue Wing Saloon Restaurant’s interiors and exteriors transports patrons back in time, while our state-of-the-art geothermal heating and cooling systems, solar panels and efficient kitchen equipment, all create a comfortable, eco-friendly environment.
