Rockin’ Johnny Burgin was raised in Mississippi and South Carolina, while at the University of Chicago he fell headfirst into the vibrant Chicago blues scene. He eagerly absorbed the lessons of all the Chicago masters and he became a staple on the club scene there in the late 1990s. Since then, he and his band have recorded 11 CDs and performed at major venues throughout the world. In 2023 he earned a BMA Nomination for Best Traditional Blues Artist while playing 200 dates across the U.S., Mexico, Japan and Europe.
Aki Kumar left his native home in Mumbai, India to work as a software engineer in the U. S. Then, inspired by the American blues tradition, he changed direction and never looked back. Now known as San Jose’s “King of Bollywood Blues,” Aki infuses traditional blues with the vibrant rhythms and sounds of his Indian heritage. His soulful vocals and masterful harmonica work create a unique musical fusion. In addition to Aki, the band is composed of guitarist Rome Yamilov, Randy Bermudes on bass and drummer June Core.
