This is the second evening of the 18th annual Labor Day weekend Blue Wing Blues Festival held at sunset in the garden between the Tallman Hotel and Blue Wing restaurant. Beginning at 6:15 each evening, guests are treated to two outstanding blues bands plus a delicious barbeque dinner, all for a price of $75 + tax per person. Opening tonight will be the popular Red’s Blues Band followed by the Anthony Paule Soul Orchestra featuring vocalist Willy Jordan.
Based in Sacramento and a favorite in Lake County, Red’s Blues was founded in 2012 by veteran bass player and songwriter RW Grigsby together with wife and lead vocalist Beth Reid-Grigsby. The band is completed with Jon Lawton on guitar and slide, percussionist Tim Wilbur and special guest, sax great Nancy Wright.
Nominated for three 2025 Blues Foundation Awards including Band of the Year, the Anthony Paule Soul Orchestra is big band blues at its best. Led by veteran guitarist and songwriter Anthony Paule, the band currently features the incomparable vocalist Willy Jordon. Jordan’s commanding vocals and unpretentious stage presence, give audiences an honest, fresh, heartfelt experience. Completing the Orchestra are Tony Lufrano on keys, Endre Tarczy on bass, Kevin Hayes on drums and a horn section of Derek James, Ethan Pires and Charles McNeal.
